Radon Testing in Ohio Schools
with:
Mandy Burkett
Chief, Indoor Environment Section, Ohio Department of Health
and
Elizabeth James
Radon Program Manager, Ohio Department of Health
The State of Ohio now requires that all schools be tested for radon. This requirement was included in larger legislation (referred to as Jarod's Law) designed to inspect for and improve safety in schools. The Ohio Department of Health has recently released the administrative code to support this legislation with additional details on how the testing is to be completed. In this 30 minute program, Mandy Burkett and Elizabeth James, of the Ohio Department of Health describe how radon testing is to be conducted in Ohio Schools, as well as how the data collected is to be used.
