As many mitigation contractors have discoverred, active soil depressurization systems that draw radon out of the soil can also draw other gasses that can otherwise enter a home or commercial building. More and more, radon mitigation systems are being installed as a means of controlling the entry volatile organic compounds in underlying soils due to spills from industrial activities or leaking underground storage tanks. With the increasing interest in redeveloping brownfield sites, the application of ASD systems is becoming increeasingly important. Listen in on an interview with David Folkes, who is a nationally recognized expert in applying ASD systems in these applications and learn about some of the critical differences between installing an ASD system for radon versus installing one for VOCs.
