A July 24, 2008 article in the New York Times certainly caused a great deal of concern regarding the safety of granite counter tops The concern being the potential hazard associated with these building materials containing natural occuring radioactive elements that could increase indoor radon levels or expose occupants to gamma radiation. This programs provides information for both the radon professional and the concerned citizens as to the basis of these concerns, as well as a discussion of simple initial measurement techniques.
